My name is Linda and I am one of the ECM bloggers.
September for most undergraduates would be the month to get used to the new school schedules and to procrastinate on readings and assignments. I remember back in my undergraduate days, which was only a year ago, I would only start reading and studying when deadlines and midterms start approaching in October! However, for us ECM students, we do not get that luxury! We are already in the middle of our term and are loaded with assignments, midterms, and readings. It is a very demanding program but we do have a lot of support to help us get through these eight months. Our professors are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. And as Callum and Peter both mentioned, our class is very diverse and we are all pooling our ideas and skills to help each other out through the program.
Every week, there are also recruiting events and career development workshops occurring outside of class. Luckily, John Horn, our career advisor is here to help, with his great advice and stories about pirates.
Of course, it’s not just all work and no play. My fellow classmates have organized sports team and even dance teams. There are also definitely parties to go to. The MBA office has also organized a ‘meet and greet’ luncheon to get to know our professors and the MBA administration staff better.
The most important thing that I learned from these past three weeks is that I am going to need lots and lots of caffeine to keep me energized and alert for all these activities and assignments!
