This year has flown by so quickly. I think it finally occurred to me that we are entering our last week of ECM classes. It just seems like yesterday we were sitting in IKB, being told how ‘intensive’ this program is going to be and trying to figure out who these other 55 people are.
Although the program is winding down, it is still quite busy for us ECMers. We still have to finish our last week of class and prepare for our last exams. Some of us are also currently involved in the Strathcona Business Improvement Association (SBIA) Green Zone Initiative projects. It’s been quite exciting being able to use the concepts we have learned in class and being able to apply it to a ‘real life’ situation and project. I am currently involved in the branding aspect of the project and it’s been quite rewarding to know what we’re doing is going to help and make a difference in a community.
We are also currently preparing for our capstone case competition. The cases are from actual executives that present us with problems from their companies. Although the case I got is about computers (Which I know nothing about. Other than using firefox and word doc), I am confident that my group would do well as I have three very capable and excellent group members. Capstone has definitely been more exciting than what I thought it would be. I am looking forward to seeing all our presentations.
I also went on the Toronto trip that Peter talked about in his last post. Although it was super cold, it was definitely fun exploring and seeing the business capital of Canada.
