Half way over already?

Hi everybody and happy holidays! So we have survived our first two modules of the program. It was not easy. But in this blog post I want to talk about something else other than grades and homework: our student government. At the start of the program we had no representation, but with the help of the MBA and ECM Administration we elected a student run government to handle concerns and questions the program faced. I am currently the VP Internal, and we have a President, VP External and various Reps (sports, career centre...) all with their own responsibilities. We have developed and organised a group of people that can easily link the cohort to the administration. Also, we proposed a budget to the Office and received 7 thousand dollars to spend as we wish. So far we have spent this money on business cards and a Christmas potluck, which went of amazingly well. Future expenditures include a final party and guest speakers. We are also looking into having mixers between ECM and MBA cohorts, to get to know the people we share space with. Being part of this executive committee is an added benefit of the program and something you should consider when choosing the ECM program. There are so many opportunities to help others and empower people. Anyways, hope you all had a great Christmas. Cheers!
